Style Tips: A Short Shift of Color.

short shift color

This is my last week of spring classes at FIT, blow the trumpets! I’m not excited just because the semester is coming to an end, but it’s also the amount of time I’ll have to share my stories, projects, tons of fashion advice! But, right now things are looking brighter, shorter and chicer as we enjoy our spring days. Continue reading “Style Tips: A Short Shift of Color.” »

Head Be Lovely. Jeweled Headbands

jeweled headbands for prom

This accessory is one for those who would rather adorned their heads while everyone is puts their jewels on the neck.  I’ve been suggesting jeweled headbands as an alternative to necklaces for those who may be attending black-tie weddings or prom.

I’ve share some stylish looks for prom (here and here) that can either have some young ladies raising their eyebrows in a questionable way or raising it plotting how they’ll one up on their fashion rivals at the prom with the sequenced romper and sheer skirt!

Think Outside The Box For Prom Part Two

Prom Life

Ruffle your way to the dance floor. If there was a ever an excuse to wear ruffles, prom night would be it.  Wearing dresses you can’t move in and aren’t a bit memorable defeats the purpose of going the extra chic mile for your prom outfit.  In this case a small amount of ruffles can go a long way. “Hide Me” Sweat Said “Hide Me.”

romeostyle tipster 042113

When you’re a slave to fashion, if there is a will you’ll find a way. Just so happens I’ve found several in order to keep my nickname Ms. Cheeky and avoid being called Ms. Sweaty Checks. I’m a sweater, through the pores that is. It’s a sweating problem that I’ve suffered from most of my life, which makes me an expert on this topic.  Through trial and damp error, I’ve figured out which garments to wear during certain seasons of the year, from the fabrics that are sweat friendly to undergarments which prevents those embarrassing moments from happening.  Continue reading ““Hide Me” Sweat Said “Hide Me.”” »

What To Wear? Long sleeves in the summer.

romeostyle slong sleeve in the summer

Some women have to wear long sleeve blouses during the hotter months of the year for several reasons.  It could be their jobs, religious beliefs, skin issues or just a generational thing.  Whatever it may be, you don’t have to feel uncomfortable or not look  chic with the abundance of styles and fabrics to chose from.   Continue reading “What To Wear? Chillin on my Tumblr Corner. You joining?

My obsession with fashion, as I know it, started with glossy pages, and if I had my way I would be sleeping on the magazine collection I once owned. No joke. Before there were e-magazines, online editorial destination or digital versions of our monthly fashion obsessions I had subscriptions to Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, W magazine, Vogue, UK Vogue, UK Elle for almost ten years. A little over 800 hundred magazines, could of made a good base for bed, but having my magazines be 800 hundred reasons for some sleepless nights I just couldn’t do. Deals Galore: New Heights on Low Heels

Not too flat, not too high, just enough heel height to keep us feeling like ladies that can run fast enough to catch the train, a clothing boutique before closing hours or lead a running gang of kids trying to catch-up to the local ice-cream truck before it leaves the block!   Don’t be ashamed, the summer heat will make you do some things to cool the body off, even if that means outrunning some children for ice-cream sandwiches and snow cones.

So my fellow heeled-clad subjects, don’t worry about how tall or short you’ll look, lets slip into low heels that are three inches or lower during the spring and summer months. After all, with the new season we should be trying new styles in clothes, new colors in makeup and new heights in heels.

Monday Men Style: Printed on the back

printer blazer francescocominelli 2

The printed blazer and jacket trend women have been wearing just isn’t going anywhere, and the trend is being shared by the gentlemen walking besides us.  It’s the modern way to update the spring wardrobe of those men who are comfortable enough with their own sense of style to know that printed outerwear isn’t just for the ladies.   Continue reading “Monday Men Style: Printed on the back” »

Fashion’s Shoulder Slingers

Fashion Shoulder Slingers

The first time I saw this new look during New York Fashion Week almost two years ago, I loved it but, I said to myself that those ladies obviously don’t live among us daily street-walkers in the city.  To wear an open coat, or jacket over your shoulders without securing it while doing everyday activities on the go are impossible.  Let me list some possible scenarios.

A Parlor Instead Of A Runway.

Showroom.Still012

Showroom.Still006Just before the end of the New York Fashion week last month, I visited Parlor Showroom, a hidden gem located in Soho.  Taylor Anne Thomas, the owner and curator, was kind enough to let my friend, videographer Sino Chum, and me see the collections of emerging designers in her Parlor! Beyond The Street-Styling.

With all the fashion editors, models, designers, stylists, and posers that worked the pavements during the Fall/Winter 2013 presentations around the world, some looked as though they were trying too hard with their fashion week looks just to get attention from photographers, while the truly wise ones walked around in outfits that were effortless, chic and filled with styling options that can work on women of any shape and size.
