Imagine being able to sit home, or in a coffee shop, maybe at restaurant sipping some wine, eating a goat cheese salad while watching fashion shows all day long!! Ohh I love me some live streaming:) Last season’s fashion shows which I couldn’t attend, were viewed on my MacBook, or iPad from the comfort of my home. I missed out on the exciting feeling hearing the original soundtracks being played , staring at some of fashions’ elite and playing the fashion week’s waiting game. Actually, not scratch the last one.
For those who don’t know about the fashion week waiting game, it goes a little something like this:
Step 1: You get to the fashion show venue on time or maybe 10 minutes late, doesn’t matter, because you’re still early.
Step 2. You wait 10-15 minutes outside the venue in a line which never moves.
Step 3. You then find out if you will be viewing the show from a seat or standing on the 4+ inch heels you’re wearing. (fashion week required footwear)
Step 4. You then wait another 15-20 minutes until the show starts.
Steps 5 – 10. The runway is cleared, lights go down, everyone gets quite, music starts playing, the center lights go on, and the first model comes out.
Don’t you dare blink, look down, or try tweeting or you’ll miss the show, since it’s about 10-15 minutes.
With my new live-streamer lifestyle, I avoid the running around, playing the waiting game, and saving all my energy for the good stuff, fashion week parties!! The fashion experience gets better for me a week later because most of the fashion designers that participated during fashion week, plus several more, will show us their Spring/Summer collections during at the Coterie, Capsule and Train trade-shows. For three days I can get up close and personal to designers’ garments and accessories without going through the chaos before, during and after a fashion show. This is a win-win situation here people!
So this weekend, stay tucked under the covers with your Laptops, or IPads on your bellies, watching the shows to your hearts’ content.
