McQueen At The Met.

After one the coldest winters New York has had in quite some time, we deserve something that will make us blush in the face and I don’t mean extreme heat.  Spring 2011 most of the fashionable one will be flocking to see some of Alexander McQueen’s greatest creations in person!  For those who follow the arts, you will know about The Met Annual Gala in which a new theme is featured each year.  This year’s theme: Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty Giddy Time!

American Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and British first lady Samantha Cameron held a press conference announcing the news in the Ritz Hotel in London.  This was the same location,  McQueen’s first post-graduate show was held.

A selection of McQueen’s though provoking creations will be on display at The Metropolitan Museum in New York from May 2nd until July 31st.

An added bonus, the Met Costume Institute is producing a book about McQueen that we can pre-order now.
