Rainbow Love On Your Body

New Ways To Love The Colors In Your Life.

If you’re just about to board onto the color-blocking train or have been working your way to those train steps, it would be best if you throw yourself off now or let this one go by.  Cause this trend, has gone into overkill territory like the florals all day everyday trend.

I of all people shouldn’t be saying such things, after all blocking those colors up down and all around has been a styling favorite of mine for years now.  Years I say, so I know when it’s time to let go of something for awhile, just to make space for something new, the technicolor way of dressing. Pleated Its Way Back Into My Life.

The first time I rocked a pleated garment was at the age of five.  The fabric was a heavy cotton-polyester blend; the style, overalls; and the place, primary school in Trinidad and Tobago.  I rocked the pleats for about seven years straight after my first time, so my relationship with the folds wasn’t one that I have fond memories of.  Time heals all wounds, scars and my love hate history with extra fabric.  I’ve found some ways to help me bring pleats back into my life so the second time around, pleats can give me happy memories. Let’s see if these ideas might help. Continue reading “Pleated Its Way Back Into My Life.” »

Spring Trends Me Likey: Bright Eyed Girl.

The clothes, jewelry, handbags and makeup aren’t the only bright things to look forward to during spring and summer. Our frames are easy ways to lighting things up, especially if you’re not ready to rock bright-colored or printed garments. A little can go a long way. The Letters Of The Alphabet Have Something To Say About Spring.

About a month ago, I decided to challenge myself by create my own version of The Fashion Book, but mine would focus on my favorite things for the coming seasons of spring/summer 2011.   At first it seemed easy enough, since there were several items that started with the letters C, D, F and S in my memory bank.  The easy street changed pretty fast when letters G, O,Y and Z stalled me for days.  Would of been easy to  ask for help from friends, but this project I wanted to do on my own, for as long as it would take.  Even though this project took a couple of weeks to find something for each letter in the alphabet,  including images, writing tidbits and creating templates, I’m happy that I did it all by my lonesome.  Now, let’s see if I can do this again for Fall!

Hubba Hubba Fashion: Meet Stealing or Dealing.

Loeffler Randall Piera Metal Tip Flats
$350

I was away last week spending time with friends in Florida and getting some of my Christmas shopping out of the way. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to do my weekly lust list and deal finds.  This week I’ve decided to merge Hubba Hubba Friday and Stealing or Dealing together for the Holidays.  This is just a teaser of more to come Monday.  I’ll look for some last minute finds for all of us.  I know that I’m forgetting someone from my list!

Just Asking For It. Clog Me.

Swedish Hasbeens Clogs

Can’t do it, can’t do it, cant do.  Getting on the  clog bandwagon has been a back and forth dilemma for almost a year now.  I like to stay ahead of the trends, and wearing clogs before the masses was my initial plan, but unfortunately the selection at the time would of done me more harm than good. Why should I put on plain black clogs?  The same black clogs that were in style almost a decade ago? Have we not evolved in our designing abilities?
Then Proenza Schouler proved me wrong, with their version of the clogs and I was back on along with everyone else it seemed..
