Adding color to ones look is a beautiful thing. The right colors on the right girl can create a double-take moment, but when I saw Nigella Miller working at Topshop, I just more than a one-two snap, it was a stare down. No shame, actually stopped paying attention to what she was telling me. Continue reading “No See Hear Or Speak Fashion Series: I See Afros Of Blue.” »
Shoe Gangs Invade Our Summer Lives.
I am one of their victims. Got caught up in their illegal trade some years ago, my eyes are open, but I can’t stop what they’re doing to me. In the past they stayed under the radar since it was only a single pair here and there, just enough to tease us with, but not too many at a time to have us going crazy. Now they’re getting bold and brave with their takeover, grouping together under a single name, hitting the runways and the streets. Fashion brands are producing these sexy soleful criminals in groups and there is nothing we can do to fight against them. Continue reading “Shoe Gangs Invade Our Summer Lives.” »
Monday Men Style: They Did Something Special To Me Part 1.
Before you guys take it to another level, wondering how special, lets keep it clean. There are always going to be men around us who have had some form of impact on our lives, be it positive or negative male influencers, or future baby daddies in our heads!
Who doesn’t want to surround themselves with wise, strong, confident men? Hold up I’ve encountered a few unsavory, unfavorable characters in my life, therefore those would go into my negative box. Can’t say that that particular box is going to be locked forever, but it sure does get opened less with each passing month. Ohh wisdom is a beautiful thing.
So let me focus on the other boxes like a teen who collects Bop Magazine a woman who stacks those GQ magazines for the articles, and well-dressed men of influence, power, and swagga. Muah.
I figure I’ll start this off with some musicians who’ve had me singing, crying, quoting, preaching, and walking like I’m a supermodel to their lyrics, and sounds.

Everything But A Dress To A Wedding.
What to wear to a wedding without having to wear a dress? How do you avoid that skirted one-piece without looking casual or not put-together for that special event you’re been invited to? I tackled this question last year with a couple of clients, and now with another season of I Do’s to tackle we are trying to stick out of the crowd in all the right ways.
The Separates Troupe is one my favorites. Getting more bang for your buck is perfect when donning a top and a pair of pants since it allows you to mix and match these pieces for several events and occasions in the future without having the tag “Ms. Repeat” on your Facebook photos.
Monday Men Style: Caption Me This Part Two.
Do you think she knows I’m cheating?
That extra 1/4 of a frame really helped me with my swagger day. Continue reading “Monday Men Style: Caption Me This Part Two.” »
No See Hear Or Speak Fashion Series: Yves Saint Laurent S/S 12
As I was creating this board, Annie Lennox’s song “Sweet Dreams” came on and the timing couldn’t of been better. A 2 am jam session, and all these thought in my head, no good was going to come of that. I started doing stuff to that song that Annie would either praise me for with or give me a couple of good smacks across my head. It depends on if she likes the spring/summer 12 collection of YSL shoes. Continue reading “No See Hear Or Speak Fashion Series: Yves Saint Laurent S/S 12” »
Spring Trends I Likey: Knock Knock Who’s There?
Definition of Door Knocker Earrings from the 1990s : Earrings that have a section with a hinged bottom that hangs below the ear lobe.
My definition of Door Knocker Earrings of 2012: Earrings that will look great on any door in my apt, may not be used to alert me when someone wants entrance into my home, but the door-knocker earrings can be stared at, photographed, worn, borrowed and defined as small hanging pieces of art. A Man With All The Spring Trends, Simon Spurr.
Simon Spurr is his name, the man behind the label was his game, as of two weeks ago. The CFDA nominee for menswear designer of the year, left his label without reasons for his exit, but I’m hoping that it must be something that will have us applauding at the end of it all, especially since his S/S 12 collection hit the mark on several trends for menswear this year.
Ohh the drama of fashion we love, let’s hope Simon’s departure will result in more than just menswear, next time he sends something down the runway. Wo, wom, women… finish that for me.

Spring Trends Me Likey: Hi-Tops And Drop-Downs.
Dropping it like it’s hot with your waistline this year is a way to embrace the flapper look from the 1920s into modern day.
