I’m not late to the camel race, I’ve steered clear of the trend just like I’ve avoided buying a parka coat because everyone wears them like the unofficial uniform for NYC winters. Every move I make, every train ride I take, I fear a camel coat, hat, or bag will be on someone’s body, watching me.
Instead of being part of the Crazy Camel Cool Troupe touring the city now, I’ll binge it out right here, and now until my next tan outerwear wave hits me.
Most of us will never walk a red carpet alongside Lupito Nyong, giving her and her styling team a run for their couture money. Nor will we walk on an international fashion runway wearing a designer outfit that will have Naomi Campbell pissed off because she didn’t get to wear it. Those moments may not happen to 95% off us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t create our own dramatic fashion moments.
