Comfort – Check
Style – Check
Sleek, sophisticated – Check and check
Time to give those chunky soles a break, and incorporate some retro-feminine pointy-toe shoes that are versatile with everything that’s going on in fashion.
Pointed flats, kitten or high heels are all sole silhouettes that can make you look refined with just the slip-on of a shoe.
If you’re new to the pointy shoes, or a bit hesitant about walking on the pointed side, experiment with the points below while working on becoming a fashion icon like Audrey Hepburn, and Twiggy with your own twist to the classics of Solelove!
Point 1: A skinny pointed heel can make wide ankles, and thick calves look heavier. The best options are stacked heels or wedges. The points of your shoes should be proportion with your height and weight.
Point 2: You can use pointy shoes to elongate you legs, making you appear taller and leaner. Slip into neutral, nude colors or patterns, and the high the pointed-heels you feel comfortable wearing, the better.
Point 3: For my petite, shorter fashion sistren, try not to have your pointed shoes to long or else the Wicked Witch of the West may mistake you for her lost sister.
Point 4: The pointy-toed pumps is the most versatile option as it compliments in a variety of settings (formal, office, casual dates, etc) and a range of clothing styles (culottes, midi skirts, pencil skirts pantsuits, boyfriend and tapered jeans.)
Point 5: The lower the pointed-heel gets, the wider the range of fashion pieces you can comfortable wear with them. Trousers, leggings, bodycon dresses, maxi skirts or dresses, shorts, etc.
Point 6: Comfort is want you want during long summer days of walking around, therefore I suggest going a 1/2 size up, if needed due to the long-day-swelling most of us experience. It won’t be cute when the pain kicks in, and your face starts to look like your feet in those pointed-shoes, pinched and twisted.
Shop the shoes pointed in the right direction…
