The talented designers, Hanna Riiheläinen and Emilia Hernesniemi of R/H, had reasons to be all smiles hours after their Copenhagen Fashion Week debut on August 5th, 2011. They received positive, well-deserved feedback on their S/S 12 collection that included green wreathes on heads, Swedish Hasbeens and models of different shades and shapes that was refreshing to see after having only seen models that looked alike for two days straight.
I’ve been following these two talents, Hanna and Emilia, since last year’s Capsule tradeshow, and it seems as though my eyes weren’t the only ones that got hooked. In less than two years, the fairly young label has one of the best PR agengies, Agency V, behind them. These ladies knew they had to bring it when going against well-established Danish brands during fashion week, and so they did.
The New Girls on the Block showed them who’s boss! Very cohesive and wearable pieces were complemented by pastel colors, denim, knitted lace, soft fabrics, and yeehaw to their signature mickey mouse ears detail! A design detail that will be in my wardrobe next spring -fringes- were in abundance on some of the trousers, leggings, jackets and blouses that were presented. So let’s take all the fringes, with two spoonful of their jungle prints, a pinch of transparent details, some cups of their signature mickey mouse ears details, a slab of floor length trench coatsl and voilà; R/H‘s receipe for the perfect Spring/Summer collection!
