For 2014 wedding looks, minus the dresses, click here.
The season for weddings is in high gear and I’ve been getting a lot of requests for help finding the perfect dress to wear to those special occassions. At the same time, some have been asking for anything other than a dress. What to wear to a wedding without having to wear a dress? How do you avoid that skirted one-piece without looking casual or not put-together for that special event you’re been invited to?
Let’s start with another one-piece favorite, Jumpsuits! Look at it as a garment that will help you avoid those peek-a-boo moments when you bend over or drop it like it’s hot on the dance floor.
From Left to Right ASOS One Shoulder Wide Leg Jersey Jumpsuit $60.34 // Theyskens’ Theory Wide-leg silk-satin jumpsuit $450 // ASOS Ruffle Shoulder Wide Leg Jumpsuit$129 // Alexander McQueen Wool and silk-satin tuxedo jumpsuit $2,240 // By Malene Birger Naby Satin jumpsuit $450 // ASOS Pleat Lapel Crepe Jumpsuit $103
Mix and matching game. Wearing a blouse or top with a pair of pants, or a skirt is something different and fun at the same time. The two-piece look you may wear to a wedding will allow you to get more wear from the pieces in the future.
From left to right ASOS Dip Back Maxi $69 // ASOS Button Wrap Pencil Skirt $34 // SATINE Ali skirt $595 // Theyskens’ Theory Maxi Skirt $345 // MOSCHINO Pleat detail skirt$316 // ASOS Mesh and Chiffon Maxi Skirt$86
P.S: For those who hate wearing heels, let the maxi look do the work, not your feet. The longer the garment, the shorter the heel you’ll have to wear.
Where would we be without some hardware to compliment out looks?
If you took a chance with trying a new way of dressing for a wedding than the usual DRESS, why not go all the way with everything else you plan on wearing?
